I've gone for the simple slotted disc caliper mounts for my SS offroad build but then as its a belt drive I'm hoping not to have to adjust tension as the belt should'nt stretch (special chain tugs should insure that the wheel sits in the same spot after removal).
I had a Santa Cruz Chameleon a few years back that was just slotted and ran discs with no problems. Once set it was fine and removing/replacing rear wheels was no more hassle than a v brake setup.
Just made me think how much I miss that bike now! Pace RC31s, Hope hubs etc, weighing in around 9kgs made a very fast XC bike.
Still, have now discovered single speed cyclo cross bikes which are the fastest cross country machines I have owned (living in the technically unchallenging New Forest) -

Spot Brand - Black, Belt drive CycloX bike.Looks good. Possibility for the future. Happy with my Felt at the moment which I've swapped out to flat bars as I prefer them off road and makes jumping over things, manualling etc,. much more fun as well as, for me, giving better control (which I need when sliding around on 32c's!).
They also lighten things up and being a bit of a weight weenie I am more than happy with an 8kg off road bike (helped along with a few other non standard parts) -

I recently built up a cycloX frame for commuting, and went with midge bars. Took it out on a few trails, before kitting it out for commuting/load carrying. Bloody good fun riding cycloX on mountain trails. Bloody scarry too though :)

Sure is. I now have the perfect bike for where I live - even more perfect than my previous 10 perfect bikes :-)
It is also pretty good on the road, although with a 60" gearing I am limited to a cruising speed of around 18mph but can't go any higher as 60" is on the high side off road. Still doesn't stop me doing 30+ mile road rides when I want to give my wrists a break from rigid narrow tyred off roading! -

Orange? Ohhh my days! Ew.
Are charge seats are comfortable or not?
-
• #169
Depends on your arse, innit.
-
• #170
Wellllllllll....
I have a big arse. -
• #171
the size of your arse doesn't usually matter, you just need to find which saddle shape fit you better.
remember - wider saddle aren't necessary more comfortable sometime.

• #172
Mine;s a challenge pro, uncomfortable as fuck.

• #173
It's more to do with your sit bones less to do with their fleshy surrounds. Trial and error is how I did it but there's generally a group of recommended saddles that work well for certain riding that would be a starting point. See the 10,000 saddle threads on here.

I have seen the threads, I was asking about the charge one! But yes will try out various ones
