Vintage Peugeot conversion help and tips please

This may be out of place, but I'm converting my Gitane to SS... Since I live in France, I'm just about certain that it's a french BB, but I don't have the tools to take the cranks apart...(I only took all the parts off today...)

Get yourself a crank-extractor from your LBS. They're not expensive.

Does it allow you to put any crank on a french BB ?

No. not any cranks! But it allows you to put JIS square taper cranks on. Chainline is another issue.

Another question...(might aswell get them all out !):
@miro_o : What rims have you got on your grey pug ? Is the braking surface black originally, or have you been abusing some Sharpies ...? ; )

Silver Mavic cxp22 or 23s (can't remember). They are cheap and good. I sprayed them with alu primer and satin black before they were built-up.
