The real problems is the numpties who RLJ when it really isn't safe to do so. I've nearly taken out a few of them when I've got a green and they're in the way. I've also shouted at a few. Generally nodders.
This is why I personally don't RLJ. Yes I know the light sequence of nearly every junction on my commute, I know exactly where to look and I can get myself safely across that junction...
But monkey see monkey do and all that.
Other peeps ignore the red light and ignore the entire junction... and I know I'm stereotyping slightly but the young ladies who would otherwise be driving their Renault Clio's seem the worst for doing it!
Classic example yesterday - bog standard neon unipack with an arospok! Just after he'd narrowly avoided my path his chain actually broke! Karma.
