Where it exists, the footway is actually part of the road, which quite often consists of carriageway and footway. Cycles are carriages in law and therefore belong in the carriageway.

As a fencer and in general in life I tend to use counter attack as defence. If someone has violated me, or my personal space I will respond in a likewise but stronger fashion.
...
As a fencer, you channel your aggression/energy with very effective and constructive results - as noted at the Nationals. Transferring this skilful control of aggression off the piste is a challenge, but perhaps concentrating on that might help?
