Ive got wide hips and a fairly big behind but I find suede kashimax type saddles by far the most comfortable.
Its not so simple as wide bottom=wide saddle. It need to put the pressure in the right places and not in the wrong places. Chaffing is something to watch out for too.
it's also important to get the height right, too low and too much weight goes on it, to high and you increase the amount of hip movement and inner thigh rubbing, then there is the bib shorts/no pants/ well made outer cycle shorts. i once had pants under bib-shorts and got rubbed red
