Ed, I've had a similar problem with my Ti Swallow, it sags really easily and I've had to tension it multiple times since christmas when I got it. It's annoying because it kind of wrecks the miles wearing it in I've done. After only 2 months or so the metal piece joining the leather at the bottom was touching the rails. I was speaking to a messenger in Manchester who said that the quality control on the hide has gone, and whilst the higher spec saddles used to get the thicker, firmer hide, now there is very little to differentiate between the lower and upper end models in terms of the leather used. It's really annoying.
I've also has a similar experience to Samson in terms of my saddle alignment, I've had to pull my saddle all the way forward to get a comfortable sitting position, I'm right at the end of the rails.
I might pop into my LBS tomorrow and see if they've got one of those measury things, maybe have a go on some of the other saddles.
