-
• #13879

Ah don't worry about keeping it clean, it'll go pale cream eventually.

Yea when the white fades a bit i think it will go with the general look of the bike. Going to keep an eye out for a brooks saddle but there is no rush on that.

Don't really know anyone on here but this forum has given me so much knowledge/info it only seems fair to show what I'm doing! Thanks to some nice forum members for most of the parts of this build.
Presto '80 531 frameset, C-Record BB/headset
Campag Record Pista chainset
Campag SuperRecord front hub / Mavic CXP33 rim
Rolls Due '98 saddle (kind of a shame the details aren't silver, doesn't look quite right)
Rear wheel I bought on the cheap to replace a stolen oneTo come soon: shiny drops, campag seat post, crank dustcaps and (not so soon) a rear wheel with campag hub.
Looks great, i hardly recognised the cranks.. did they polish up ok?

I actually decided not to polish them in the end! Thought they'd stand out too much against the other more dull components. And I wanted to put it all together and ride it asap, I was bikeless for two weeks.

What chain are you going to use?
I may start with a 3/32" because I have a Super Record ring in 3/32" and both sizes sprockets.
I have a nice Sedis Pro, but unfortunately it's too short.
Would be nice to have an Italian, but it's hard to get a (silver) Regina (1/8" or 3/32") even another Italian.
I'll start with a SRAM PC 870 (890 is too expensive).
What do you think is Italian, age correct and available?Did you find a silver Regina 1/8?
I bought a "silver" Regina Pista 1/8 from Campy Oldy but it turned up to be silver/black which is a bit disappointing...

Due to unforeseen seatpost problems, this is on hold, but the cranks are on. Just waiting on a silver Izumi 3/32 chain.

Somehow the combination of snowflaked black spokes and a reflector are funny.

Some fookin dodgy welds going on in the middle there . . .
Wont the white tape, and white tyres get grubby very quick?
