There was a piece on/involving her in the Guardian today. I have to admit, she does come across as a bit of a moaner. When she's not complaining about her lack of fame, she's whinging about pressure from coaches to "get her hair cut and make herself less feminine". I'm not saying these aren't valid complaints (well, actually, HTFU my response to the latter would be), but voicing them publicly perhaps isn't the best idea, especially for someone who's apparently so image-conscious.
The piece above about the Olympic medalists lack of fame doesn't strike me as her moaning.. The article was set out to convey what it did and thus I can't imagine they were asked about much else. As for voicing this stuff publicly, she's answering questions from a reporter in an interview, not shouting it unprompted on twitter or some other website..
