30 mph is easy to get to, but from a standing start with 90GI you will barely get there before the roundabout, unless you have legs made of Hoy.

Really!? 30mph? Flip. I reckon I do about 15 max, anywhere, ever. I like taking my time.

I reckon you could spin 80 and do it. not me. you.

So, Owenreed managed to miss the start line completely so no time for him. The only time set was Mobidog, who did a 2.09.9 on his geared bike. This is slower than his 2:08.41 fixed the week before. Not that I have any room to talk.

Well what can I say? Fail for me even leaving the house last night. I may bring my road bike next week if the weather is good, just to see what sort of time I get.
-
• #3588
I was actually up for a good run, except after overtaking the white van man, a bloody double decker pulled out in front of me on the second roundabout, forcing me to stop completely. I think I could have gone 4 seconds quicker were it not for the speeding bus. Next week I think I'll bring my geared, my trackie and my beater just for shits and giggles.

I don't think I'll be pint trial-ing again, lager or bitter. It makes me too knackered to lay down a TT time.

That was a great turnout. It was good to see so many people and meet a few more from the forum. Thanks to Skully I'm now going to try my hand at restoring a very old, and very weathered Brooks.

Dale, here's the Sturmey adjusting instructions:

If that doesn't sort you out (and it should) then I can rebuild the hub for you. -

Tour de Hackney - the only cycling race in the world where the bystanders are on more drugs than the competitors.

Are newbies welcome, what sort of initiation do you partake in?
-
• #3596
Double fail on my behalf, I was actually gonna come down this week. Then my bike got nicked, and I remembered my friend's album launch party on the same night.
I will be there, soon.
-
• #3597
you are very welcome. Your initiation involves having to approach a group of strangers and ask whether they are the LFGSS easties and hoping you don't get a baffled response. Good luck!

If anybody has a spare 19T sprocket and a lockring tool that they fancy bringing tonight in exchange for undetermined dorrar/beers I would be very happy :)
Time to up the gear me thinks. 30mph average is pretty easy on 90 GI and that is pretty easy to get moving. [Although I have 84 fitted, so might just use that, if I can be bothered to ride at all that is]
