  • Are all Mr Schick's postings so scholarly? Really, I think you are in danger of raising the general level of discussion on this forum. There are many instances on this thread alone of your unnecessarily high-falutin' displays of grammatical learnedness. We may have to impose a ban on the use of long words. And French ones.

    Or, in the best tradition of 'Nam movies, we could start calling you Shakespeare to characterise you instantly as The One Who Has Read A Book Or Two (and is likely to die horribly in the first major battle scene). "Incoming!"

    I just do it in Word--excellent keyboard shortcuts for accented characters. Try Ctrl plus the character that looks like the diacritic, e.g. a comma for the cedille, then press the character. In the above case, Ctrl+' and then 'e'. Or use the reverse apostrophe for an accent grave. ^ for accent circonflexe, etc.
