Lucas if you mean that there are bikes somewhere for gratis--forget about it, ive had enough of 'liberating' bikes, tried last week a wrecked OLMO, tubs hanging off it but frame o.k at Bmth station--the nice platform assistant (jobsworth twat) starting trying to tell me he could actually call the police on me for taking something off railway property, even though it wasnt locked and was obviously a wreck, the fact that I already had one absolutely blinging bike with me at the time may have scuppered me tho, ha ha, so thanks, but no thanks.

No you got the wrong end of the stick I didn't explain properly in my first post. Those bikes were outside someone home with a sign saying "FREE" ... they must have been having a clear out and they assumed they weren't worth anything.

fuck, what address?
-
• #507
There's a MTB in *our *garden if you're wanting a free bike...

Dunno the exact address up Parkstone road and it was on the group of house shown HERE. You can't miss where it is if those bikes are still there.
I only cycled past and had a quick look. The Raleigh had quite a bit of rust on it, but the ladies mixte bike was in a lot better nick if I remember correctly.

Anyway not as good as the Eurosport SIDI shoes ad .... but I got another which is almost as silly...

Spotted: Saw TenBears (I think) waiting for a bus.
Spotted: Saw some geezer on a bright green klien this morning down at pennhill, I shouted at him like an idiot and he probably wondered what the fuck was going on.

just picked up an old claud butler 3 speed, looking to change to fixie asap, what would be the best place to source parts relatively cheap locally?
-
• #519
bournemouth mountain bike centre, Kinson/Wallisdown road.
best for bastardisation and mechanics.
you said 3 speed so who knows whats needed there
:-/
also check out BJs Hamworthy, both old school shops with real mechanics.
coming out over the weekend? -

Try BJ's Bike Shop in hamworthy ... he is usually pretty reasonable and he knows his stuff.
Bournemouth Mountain bike centre is alright as well (retapped my BB shell threads). Other than that most of us just cane ebay around here.

Think 3-speed just means it's got 120mm rear spacing and horizontal dropouts. :)
Think you might have difficulty putting together a whole fixed from local shops. :p

Lucas get back to posting SIDI stuff, are you working for them yet? ;-)

I should be ... I would be able to think up of loads of ridiculous and cheesy adverts.
On the way back from Corfe I managed to completely break down ... was quite funny ... thought I could hold it until I got to a hill and I would be fine ... but my legs said no. Managed the hill outta lulworth possibly the fastest I have ever done it ... which isn't that fast but a definite improvement. Need to lose the beer belly and I will get faster.
BTW Jason ... when we went separate ways there were two bikes outside someone's house on the road on the way back from the civic centre. An old Raleigh racer and a Ladies Mixte Frame ... both looked like they would be gone for a pub bike after a clean up... Was too tired to inspect them further.
After I came in I led down and I was just heating up was really weird ... Had to get in the shower to cool myself back down.
All in all good day out.
