  • You don't have to make it fuggly, but if it looks a bit "lived in", then that's all the better for it not being so stealable. I haven't had a bike nicked in four years of riding and locking up in London.

    Saying that, if you have a bike that doesn't look too expensive and you have two really good locks on it, anyone with any sense will look at the effort to steal vs the value of your bike and move on to the next bike down the rack.

    There's several old threads on tips to stop you bike being stolen. None of them will guarantee it, but every one of them will put someone off trying it on with your ride. Stuff like covering your frame in stickers - they either have to try to sell it all stickered up like that, or spend ages trying to get them off. Etc. Etc.
