The tape is wrapped the other way (starting at the stem), so that it traps the loose end as you begin to wrap the tape.

Advantage: It looks sweet, there is no horrible electrical tape.

Disadvantage: Your hands pushing on the tape will cause it to peel up at the edges and look tatty very quickly.

Ive been riding on that tape for quite a while and it still looks nice. It will get a bit tatty a bit sooner probably but It's been a good 4 months and It still looks good.
