Trust me, I already feel the same... I picked Paris over London because after running numbers, I just could not afford it as much as I would rather be in London... but - it's never too late. Seems easy than France, too as far as immigration. My visa situation here is such a pain in the ass.

Any recommendations on living in London cheap... I am open to the idea. I freelance so nothing really is keeping me any specifically.

London is admittedly expensive but sometimes you can find a cheap room, studio flat, one bed room flat if you look outside the capital itself?
