  • hope it all went well tonight. i was not back from devon in time for it and my legs wouldn't have handled it anyway.

been away from the puter for four days so just catching up. bmmf - your text makes sense now. the new route sounds promising and a ten quid cap sounds about right for TNRC.

clintsmoker - hope all was well and you heard the right turn by the motorway in the absence of sam ;)

catch you ls and gs soon

My battery died after receiving your reply. I thought you'd be on a train back from St Mary Cray, but now it's all making sense at this end too.

I <3 my new bike. The plushness that andyp mentioned (regarding titanium) made more sense after some prolonged and bumpy high speed sections. The bigger the hits from the road, the more greedily the frame seems to absorb them. I prefer it to the boingy feedback of steel and the buzz-negating characteristic of carbon*.

*sweeping generalisation, ignoring tube diameters and build quality, but the clichés exist for a reason.

    FYI, tonight's reccy-route is here

, give or take, going anticlockwise. It was 40 miles on 69" fixed in 2h02 tonight, but should be far more pleasant and sociable around the 2h30 mark :)
