  • I whistle when I ride, normally something retarded like Frank's version of New York, New York... I have no idea why I would choose to whistle a song like New York, New York while riding my tarck...

lately, i've been singing 'mac the knife', 'after the goldrush', and a random selection of leonard cohen songs

  • i whistle little tunes when i ride

combines with being prepared to whistle a high pitch to let people know to get the fuck outta my way.
    otherwise im nice really.

  • random selection of leonard cohen songs

haha, i don't feel that ashamed anymore

  • The '"la la la laaaaaah, la-la-la" refrain from 'What Is Soul?' by Funkadelic has seen me through some dark moments in the saddle.

  • i tend to sing the same two lines of whatever song is in my head over and over and over. I loves it!

  • On a more serious note, is there such a condition as cyclist tourettes as I seem to be a sufferer

  • search the London Banshee

  • Is the Prodigy TMTTH a cover of The Replacements' TMTTH? It's good, but I prefer Cracker's Take Me Down to the Infirmary, particularly for singing.

I feel somewhat less of a mentalist now I know I'm not the only one singing his way round London. Goes to show, it's not that obvious to others.

    I love The Mats... :)
I was singing a bit of Chaka Khan while I was rolling about yesterday...

  • deffo the best song to sing whilst cycling [spesh the wwooooeeeeooooaaaa bit]. Even better when the whole grupetto get it stuck in their heads and start singing it as well…

  • oui monsewer :^]

[the lyrics to the original might elicit a slightly different reaction]

  • When pedalling in particularly horrid weather i find myself belting out 'Blue moon of Kentucky' at the top of my lungs in the mistaken belief that the wind & rain will drown out my bad Elvisy caterwauling. Oh Dear.

  • I love singing a proper bluegrass version of that complete with yodelling, such a beautiful song... :)

  • Anyone fancy fitting these?! http://www.audiobike.com/

  • This thread should have been Friday afternoon's 'kick off' thread.

  • Saturday night fell short of expectations, SO i went for a ride round my neighbourhood in the rain(bare in mind I live in the heart of W1) found myself at the mercy of the great Ipod controller, started with The Rev horton heat covering fulsom prison blues, just as i pulled up next to a lotus who's engine shook parts of me that haven't been shaken for a while it moved into Fats Domino finding his thrill on blueberry hill, we met again at the lights of marble arch whilst Earl Bostic was doing the best instrumental of sentimental journey in my ears so I could only summon a faint smile as i jumped the lights with fugazi blaring Little debbie & hacked it my merry way home knowing that my peasure derived from cyling & good music probably far outweighed the lotus drivers frustrating west end escapade(frustrating coz cars like that need the open road to let loose on, where as the bike rider can enjoy moments of glory between lights in the reflections left from the rain :)Hic, did i mention i was on a booze run????

  • find myself singing this an awful lot when riding, weird as fuck:

YouTube - The Jets - Crush on You (1986)

  • If I had speakers on my handlesbars, I would play this - very loud

YouTube - Wagner - RIDE OF THE VALKYRIES - Furtwangler

and Furtwangler has got to be the word of the day
