  • I just wear a gortex windbreaker my roommate got me. he, (lemondragonfly on the forum) works at Snow and Rock. You can PM him i guess to find out what they got...

  • If you get onto the drops, the front of it will be perilously close to your chain...

  • i fucking hate it when the inside of my jeans gets soaked from the front wheel... is there a solution? or should i just man up and deal with it...

  • Just wear these (plus an AFL helmet):

Perhaps something that mounts to the axle or dropouts and the brake boss, then carries on around the wheel, blocking spray from reaching the rider. I reckon you could make a mint out of winter commuters if you could get that to work.

  • conveniently im a product designer. ill see what i can do ;)

    just a concept

  • Wiggle were doing a big sale on DHB Waterproofs at the end of last week. They might still be doing it now.

  • Jason you fuckin' hipster!

  • I agree!!

  • Montane Velo for summer showers - works briliiantly although against bare skin your arms do get wet, so best to pack skin arms as well to allow it to woick correctly.
For winter I have a Gill Prospeed, also excellent.

Both of these are as minimal as you can get, no pockets, just a zip up the front and loads of reflective tape.
The Montane top will need to be re-proofed every few months if you wear it regularly.

  • Wax coated clothing? or if you want waterproof jeans i know edwin have made a goretex jean, pretty pricey though i think...

  • i have a raincape i got from blacks, but it was a bit long so i cut some length off it. i cant wear it without a cycling cap with the peak up, otherwise the the hood falls right across my eyes. its great for staying dry, but it can get very hot. in the summer id rather just get wet.

  • Gave this its first outing yesterday:

Seems to be properly waterproof. Breathability seems okay too, though I can't see myself wearing it in warm weather (it's not lined, so will get very clammy very fast I expect!)

  • I just bought one of these:

    from http://www.ottolondon.com/

I've never owned a rain cape before. It's amazing. I've never been so dry. Reccomended.

  • Although I've just noticed he's not wearing it right in the picture - there are hoops fro your hands to fold when you are riding at the front, so even your hands are covered. It's brilliant.

  • Does it not turn you into a sail?

  • Not really if you put it on right, used to have one in the past for my dutch bike - 99.6% dry (feet a little soaked due to no mudflap), but not on a road bike where i don't mind a bit of wet.

  • Rapha Deep House Collection.
