First time buying chips...

I'm new to the forum but I think I'm about ready to build my own chips. I have some potatoes that I'm planning on converting, but the brother of my mate's girl told me that some potatoes aren't spaced properly to turn into chips? Any ideas on what to do?

Get new potatoes that don't have eyes and are a bit inexperienced and stupid. Fool them into thinking that it's OK to go skinny dipping (you won't have to peel them yourself) and deep fry them in boiling hot oil. It'll be a road to Damascus experience for them and they'll be converted.
