dude it's ok, i think you did the right thing. From what ive understood you weren't feeling quite well at one point. If something is not right it's worth not to risk in the name of your own health, seriously.
It wasn't exactly exciting when we got to dunwich anyway. Cold, rocky, sandy, sweaty shit food and then rain as well.

But i think just the whole experience of riding, whether 10 or 100 miles, is just worth it for seeing such a community of cyclists and the size of the event. Just seeing endless numbers of cyclists overruling those twisty country roads with twinckly red lights in the distance did it for me.
Being a part is everything, the rest isn't important.
