my dad got us a betamax when i was a kid, eventually it stopped working though but it still sat there for about another 10 years, despite its massive size, cos it had a huge digital clock, so we could all tell the time. now sadly it has gone, there is an analogue clock on the fire place but the face is so small you can't read the hands but doesn't really matter cos it always tells the wrong time anyway.
