I'd like to thank you for posting this as I finally got round to putting mine together this evening.
I already had these 'stolmen' poles from when I fitted them in my old place so outlay was only £6 on a bit of steel and a £8 for the hooks. I lined the hooks with some thick leather as I couldn't find any foam but it works all the same and serves to grip the top tube, handy on the MTB with the sloping geo. I may offset the hooks at a later date but for now it works and I'm happy the bikes are no longer taking up floor space!
