So annoyed I had to pull out, my mum was going to come as well!

Don't laugh; it was a very traumatic moment for me. I was considering paying a small child to fill the water bottle up on my behalf - it was THAT BAD!

So did you reach the 50 target?
-
• #356
No, as I still have some spoke cards left, however I'm sure we were 40+

@Opiumia those Sidi's were FAR too shiny! The look of dismay on your face when you realised you might get them muddy whilst filling up with water round the back of the bike hire place in RP was priceless!
Hehe - some girls are all about the Monolo Blahnik's or whathaveyou, and those don't have fancy, twisty, clippy adjustable things on! I'm with Opiumia on this one. Keep em for special.
@Opiumia - thanks for all the info about Dulwich Paragon. Will definitely try and make it out on one of the Saturday rides once I've got the Holdsworth up and running.

Thank you all so much! I loved the ride and it was lovely to meet you all.
Thanks to Clefty, I know that the best place to eat mango is in the bath.

My parents were in London at over the w/end (Happy anniversary). they spotted you and said it was a jolly uplifting sight.
Be happy in the knowledge that you made my mum smile. Something I am still unable to do.

A chap riding alongside me on South Lambeth Road yesterday morning said he'd seen me in the park on Sunday, and asked what the ride was all about. I told him, and he seemed to like the idea - but I feel a bit perturbed that someone would actually recognize me out of a pack. I had assumed I sort of blended into the background. Hmmm.

oooh it sounds like it a was a really lovely day. I will keep a look out for the next one.
I must reiterate the thanks to Clefty and Miss Socks for leading the ride and also to all the traffic-stoppers. Great to meet you all (and good to see a couple of familiar faces!). Kat - seeing the Penny at the front of the line of riders made me smile so much. Just brill. Hope the crack gets sorted. (And that roadies with phone cameras acquire more manners ;) )
Memories of the ride form the below list:
Congregating at Buck Palace
The Penny, and seeing the grins on the faces of those who saw it
Joanna Lumley
Whistles
Being told off for riding in an area of Richmond Park not permitted for cycling - by a copper in a ruddy great 4X4!
The 'bike tree'
Mango
Deer
Another fab batch of chocolate brownies
It not raining - well, not properly
The hill in Wandsworth
Trying to keep green bits of blossom out of a pint
...And, jolly fine company. Thanks ladies!
Look forward to the next ride!
TFFN,
Opiumia (Sarah - Genesis Skyline and red shiny Sidis)
