  • i've just got my dirty mitts on this, but i don't like it. so i think i'm going to sell it.
not sure what it's worth though. i might have to keep an eye on ebay to get an idea.

  • Was the intention to keep it geared or strip it back?

  • i had no intention of doing anything really. It just came into my possession. i reckon it might be a shame to puppy kill it. and i already have 4 bikes in the house. only one of which is rideable. AND i'm poor. so i reckon she must go, even though she's lovely.

  • the NAG is a 60cc...and the araya's are gold

    the top tube is 59cc

  • Nice.

  • So you're not a big butt fan then?
im talking more around the back area, bottom depends ;)

  • and don't worry, I wont be using the brakes on the araya golds, i will only use these rims on the track

  • Just picked up some white carbon forks from Illy (thanks mate!) and put them on my Rourke. Not sure they look right though, I need some second opinions!

And with the original forks (and worse photo):

  • They are a different colour from the rest of the bike which doesnt help much. Chromed forks would look nice.

    Yeah I know..............chromed forks in 1 1/8th?

  • they look like 3T fundas from a cervelo. they are a good fork. i guess it depends if looks or how it rides are more important. (it looks better without the stem spacers though)

That's exactly what they are. They're ridiculously light.

  • Decided I don't like the white/off white clash so swapped back to the original fork. Ah well, got some awesome forks for a future project!
Going to get the steerer cut down to get rid of the spacers, any idea how much a bike shop would charge for that?

  • Rattle can them cream.

I'm not sure how you'd go about prepping the surface seeing as it's carbon though.

But I'm sure there's a thread somewhere on here that'll have the info, didn't Tynan spray his Easton forks?

  • @ delta - lovely
@ entwidomelda - puppykill indeed, much preferred the original colourscheme.
@ Bainbridge - I think the white fork looks great

Just got hold of this for a girl friend, came to me gratis, left by a neighbour of a mate that passed away. Falcon Olympic (?) wee small steel mixte, simplex 5 speed, sugino chainset, on 27" steel wheels. Unused for several years, it came up nice after a good wash. Still rides nice, the gear changes are lovely.

Tempting as it is to source some nice alloy rims for it, the steel ones are perfectly straight and serviceable, and she's not exactly going to be doing the olympics on it. New tyres, tubes, grip tape and brake blocks, a good clean lube and adjust and that's it.

    Olly

  • @ Delta

Why oh why did you drill the forks??* :-(

    *killing an NJS frame fail

  • and does that nag have a sloping top tube?

    *killing an NJS frame fail

he explains it was specifically built for road training.
Hence the bottle cage holes, sloping top tube and drillednessness.
plus not all njs builders only build trackbikebikes.

I think the pista bars look out of place, but thats just a personal grievance, and my dislike of compact geo remains.

    but nice build nonetheless

  • plenty of working NJS frames get forks drilled in any case.

people need to get over themselves about that.
