• I just picked up a lightweight road frame for £10, rusty, really light and propose to build it up as a beater to see how the frame is and then maybe restore if i like it. It's time I stopped riding one Raleigh record Sprint after another, goodbye trusty 501.

    Here she is..

I have no idea what the frame is, it's very light though so I'm going with 531. Distinguishing features include, Haden lugs and an over sized cap on the seat stays, see next pic.

The seat stays are of the pregnant style, so thin at each end with the fattest section in the middle of the tube, you can just about see it in the next pic.

Next up are the forks, sloping lugless with Capagnolo dropouts to match the rear ones.

I've had a good old look around and I'm starting to get worried that she it another Raleigh, a lot of the Raleigh Professionals had Haden lugs and pregnant seat stays but slightly differnt forks, around 1984, but they didn't have cable guides on the top tube, but some of the tourers did. I'll know for sure if it's a Raleigh when I try to fit the heaset.

Here are the numbers form the frame just in case anyone recognises them as a give away.(first cjaracter on the BB is a W)
