  • You have a broken bike and two broken ribs. You were admitted to hospital. As I understand it, overnight hospital admission automatically upgrades the injury category to 'serious'. (I know 2 nights in hospital does but I'm not certain about a single night.)
Pulling a U turn across a cyclist ought, at the very least to be pursued as 'driving without due care and consideration'.
I believe this is a crime.
Failure to pursue this kind of thing is a result of institutional anti-cyclist laziness on the part of the police.
It results in poor justice for crash victims and inadequate road crash statistics, making it difficult for campaigners to improve road conditions.
I am angry; it almost seems as if the paramedics did you a disservice by sending the police away at the scene. I feel the cops should have seen you in hospital and not left this follow-up to you.
