two to three hundred bills of forks on a bike for tricks. What the fuck are you smoking.
-
• #103
Ha I've never bought forks before so I don't know what to expect to spend
-

It's a nice fork alright! I think I might go with a 650c front wheel (but again, I'll be investigating it). It's what Keo on bootleg 1 does although he also has a lo-pro

You should get a 650 front and rear, keep adding more heavy gauge steel, get a smaller frame and keep going that devolution until you have a BMX.

In fact I'll just take the Bmx wheel an forks I have already and attach them! Great idea scaryeire!

@Scaryeire don't forget to shake!
I had bought an old Raleigh to convert but I really don't have the dosh so I'm going to focus on my fort, starting with a powdercoat once I get new forks. There has been discussion on it over on boards.ie with some dude that works in tallaght powdercoating even commenting about it. It apparently costs €120 for a frame (I don't know if forks are included) and if you go to their website you can get a 10% discount too. I'm thinking of popping in there on Thursday to see what colours they have
-

Hmm... €120 sounds reasonable enough if the quality is good!! What colour are you going to go for? They look great in white with some coloured rims!!
-
• #112
Nah white is too much upkeep I think. Although..... It does sound pretty cool
I was thinking of green frame forks and stem and purple rims grips and pedals

in the last week i have obtained 2 new bikes!
here is the most recent 350 earlier today
i call her NEMO!and i have no pictures of the track bike but it is a sexy lugged frame in a little need of a respray.

Yeah thats the type of fork I meant when I said mtb rigid forks, very nice on some bikes.
-
• #116
I was talking to my mechanic friend and he is gonna see if he can get me the fu manchu forks
-
• #117
Check chainreaction, they have some nice ones.
-
• #118
yeah I was but I don't think they'd fit my headset for the most part. Mine is 1"
-
• #119
Brooklyn are 1" aren't they?
-
• #120
What...Why 1"? Ahead?
-
• #121
Yeah I think so... I was fairly sure Brooklyn forks are 1" Ahead? Some random american manufacturers do it for some reason... Fort for example...
-
• #122
Haha fools, going back to the days where different was thought of as better:p.

Stick up a pic! What is it?
I found some cracks in my forks so I'll be getting some new ones, any suggestions from anyone?
These look good if you're planning to do much tricks https://www.benscycle.net/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=188_902&products_id=8442

• #124
I would but they won't fit my frame, those forks come only in 1-1/8" not 1"

Also decided to change my ratio. So I'm running 51/17 at the moment and I'm thinking of getting a fyxomatosis chainring. Just need to figure out what ratio would be nice and easy for tricks but if I change the cog I still need a bit of oomph for speed when commuting. Suggestions?
someone has been studying! I'll keep that in mind, like I said, there's no rush, although the sooner the better I guess because I'm going to have a frankenbike for a while
