netherless in practise it's not idea, since the part are more exposed to the elements, and water are more prone in getting in the seatpost. it'll fail a lots in rain due to tyres spraying water on the light.

If it was sealed in properly with adequate lashings of silicone it oughtn't allow water in...
I'd kind of forgotten about that plan actually!! Must reinvestigate!
