I've only been for a short test run so far and then another slightly longer ride once I adjusted/tightened everything but so far, the braking power seems good, but no better than a good pair of normal machined rims. I think the ceramic coating is likely to give a much longer lifespan though.
(Also, I'm using the Dia-Compe Gran Compe brake lever which doesn't have the same braking power or control as a conventional lever and it's only a Veloce caliper which is hardly top of the range!)
