  • Can someone be a diamond and sort out a route please, I've tried using that AARoutemap thing and it's wank. Here's the route:

    QPR
    **Chelsea **
    Fulham
    Millwall
    Charlton
    West Ham
    Spurs
    Arsenal

    Thanks :-)

  • I very quickly put a Google map thing together of our route.
Not perfect, sure we could shave some of this with better routing...

48.3 miles / 77.7 km including Crystal Palace (and the HILL)

38.8 miles / 62.4 km excluding Crystal Palace (and the HILL)

I think it would be sensible to scrap CP. Including getting from where I live (Bow) and back at the end from Arsenal, its 65 miles / 104 km which is plenty enough withot that bastard hill!

    Thoughts?

  • Shit the bed, did we both think the same thing at the same time :)

  • Only thing I'd say, if we did the route not including Crystal Palace, It'd be better to go Fulham then Chelsea, saves about a mile and a half, and means you don't double back on your self.

  • Thanks guys.

I say we knock Palace on the head as it's a cunt to get too, shit stadium and I only live about 2miles away so don't really need to see it again....and it would obviously be less of a ride = more beer time :-)

I agree with the Fulham then Chelsea route too

  • Not sure this will work, my google maps skills are definitely limited.

  • It's all the same. Somewhere off the M6. Speak the same as well. It's a bit like a Slade video up there. All funny accents and tanktops.

I was going to have a go at you for this, then realised it was all pretty fair.

  • Thought of you today Ru, some Taliban fella shot in Afghanistan had a Villa tattoo! :-$

  • Looks good to me.

Don't think we can cycle Blackwall Tunnel though, but there is a Greenwhich foot tunnel we could do, but its a fair cut back, would provide some cool picture opportunties though.

Also, from Stratford to Tottenham we can take the greenbelt which would be a nice ride :)

  • ^ Nice one Rob, I'm all for suggestions to make the route easier, I don't have 'The Knowledge' and I don't venture North too much :-)

Nice to know there are supporters throughout the world.

  • Fuckin plastics! :-)

  • A rough idea of what I'm nattering about...

Not sure you can cycle all the way up that greenbelt, I've been up most of it and it was ok.
Some bits a bit rough, still paths, but no worse than your average east end back street.

  • Why bother backtracking for the Greenwich foot tunnel? Just carry on to the Woolwich ferry and, if you've just missed it and can't be arsed to wait for it to come back, then go through the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Woolwich_foot_tunnel right next to the ferry terminal (don't think it's been closed yet).

  • Here are my two attempts, one with Palace one without, it does become very northish without them.

I've also stuck in Orient as we'd be so close it would be rude not to.

    With: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=2918787

    Without: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=2918937

On the one without I've stuck in the bonus of Fisher Athletic's old ground.

Oh, and we get a trip on the Woolwich ferry, I assume bikes are allowed on the ferry.

Yep, push you way right to the front of the queue of traffic and go to the far end of the deck on the left. You'll also be first off when it gets to the other side.

Don't bother going on as a pedestrian as you have to carry your bike downstairs and then back upstairs at the end of the journey.

Obviously might be trickier with 20 of you, they might ask you all to go downstairs as peds but I doubt it.

  • Woolwhich foot tunnel looks good to me, love those sort of semi-abandoned spaces..

    Bluenose scum. ;-)

You from Redditch way, CG? I grew up in Alvechurch.

  • Heh, yes I am, well, born in Worcester but moved to Redditch when I was five. What high school did you go to?

  • One of your defenders?

  • And I bet he's been to Anfield more than you

  • I have only been there 3 times. But that is 3 more times than I have been to Barnet and one more time than I have been to the Emirates
