That saddle position looks harsh! I guess that's what happens with a thompson post and a brooks. Layback is for pussies!!!

What's wrong with the saddle position?
-
• #11204
I don't get it, it look level to me.
-
• #11205
I'm guessing Alex thinks it's too far forward?
Looks spot on to me. -

Mine got soaked to the point of being a chamois on the D D...had to turn a good inch of threads out to be able to cycle the other 80+ miles :)

You need mudguards. ;^)

This is what the frame looks like...but mine has the carbon rc31 rigid forks...or the rc36 carbon suspension forks if i fix them :)
![](http://i.ebayimg.com/23/!BTZ18lg!Wk~$(KGrHgoH-CIEjlLl26,yBKIUEGuOug~~_3.JPG)I always wanted one of these
My brother had rc 35 suspension forks, amazing at the time with about an inch of travel

Yeah i had some rc 35's too before i got my Pace team issue complete...except i put shorter and harder rebound dampers in and added extra to the main elastomer stack to increase the travel.
The pace forks had so much overlap between stanchions and slider that they were perfect for the mod. -

How lo can you pro?
Made a couple of changes to the Merckx...swapped the risers for some 36cm Black nitto's....prefer the look of drops on a lo-pro...just looks 'right' to me...also swapped the Arione saddle for a flite...all that's left now is a tyre change and new pedals when i can afford them and i'm done. :)
I like where you have the grips. What type are they?.Comfortable position, then drop down when you feel the need, nice. Were they easy to slide on?.If they're soyo's you deserve a medal :o) -

The grips are strong V's. Just been out to play in rush hour traffic for the first time since fitting the drops and it's as good as i expected. The handling is far less twitchy than with the risers but just as fast to react cos of the 650 wheel.
The easy way to put any Keirin grips on...including soyos which i had before is with hairspray....plenty in the grip and on the bar.....slide em on...then leave for a few hours....sets them rock solid....then wipe excess off the rest of the bar. Presto. :)

^or a tiny bit of window cleaner - doesn't 'set' them i don't think, so perhaps easier to remove if necessary.
-
• #11217
they're all easy to remove....roll them back halfway spray more hairspray.....then roll back the other half.....spray again and slide off. Presto again :)

that g85 bike cleaner is good shit, as quick and dries in like 10min

It's surprising what a difference bars make, with top drop bar position and risers. You would'nt think there would much difference.Mind you,a low pro fixed with a 650 front wheel,in my mind spells "pure speed"!.Great innit!
Nice tip on the Keirin grips.I think i've seen posts on here where every type of liquid/fluid has been used.Hairspray by the sounds of it has the added bonus of fixing them in place.Cheers. -
