Diapo I think you'll be OK. its not as hard as Cambersands as that was a loooong ride, but this has a lot more bumps, but is MUCH shorter.
....honest!

Balls.. I thought this was tomorrow night. I was gonna bring the road bike to get in my only training before bloody welsh bollocks whatsit.. dragon ride.. yeah. Now I find out it's NEXT week. Damn!

i did the cambersands too. so this is not THAT BAD!???? this is a question BTW
what TFCK is honest? not me...
if i don't find the 6 speed cassette i will have to go fixed or not at all -
• #1480
tika, if you are waiting on a 6-speed corn-on-the-cob job you might be better off fixed. the climbs are mainly shallow but leg-sapping with a couple of ramps here and there.
'honest' i believe came from something i may or may not have said about alpe d'huez. it was a brutal climb on a stifling day when clintsmoker and i tackled it. little could be said in its favour. however, i did think it was 'honest'. unrelenting and set. truthful. perhaps a climb that makes you discover something about yourself. perhaps just consistent. the surrey hills share that quality, though it is not lost on me that 'honest' is now used euphemistically. if there is such a word.
come along next tuesday and find out. noone gets left behind on the TNRC

i think that i found a 6 speed 14-24 although i am not sure that i will know how to handle a geared bike after 5 years on a fixed
"corn-on-the-cob" what this mean?
i don't want to be the one that holds everyone back :)

I did a 75 mile loop of Surrey Hills on Saturday with Desi and DJ and that has given me enough training for this week before the Dragon on Sunday.
Sorry to dissapoint peeps who registered interest. Anyhow I've done enough damage here. Sorry Tim.
THE NEXT TRNC IS ON THE 16TH JUNE 2009.

Nah, Its a warm up to the Tuesday night ride
-
• #1499
Tues 16th June TNRC Surrey Hills ride (hard and hilly) 36 miles apprx
- Clintsmoker
- jonny
- BMMF (ride out and back)
- shootthebreeze
- tika
- andyp
- Sam (my lucky number, will meet everyone at Effingham)
- texas
9.(11)Plagiarist - SLag
11.claus
12.purple_mj (ride out and roll back) - Gav (ride out and back)
- mashton
train times - waterloo 19:33 arrive effingham junction 20:15
effingham jct 22:54 ; 23:03 ; 23:24
IMPORTANT - i will be posting maps that have get out clauses at three stages in the ride. For those riders who may need to abandon before the end. The TNRC will be waiting for all riders at various junctions etc but if any rider feels they do not want to complete the hills or doesn't think they can make the full 36 miles before the last train then there are options. This means the ride is not an all or nothing affair. Doing 1/3 or 2/3rds of the ride will make you stronger for the next ride.
