  • Hello.
Wondering if anyone has had experience of getting skateboards on to Easyjet flights??
Flying to Amsterdam in a couple of weeks and want to take my bag and board as hand luggage strapped to one another.
Really don't want to pay to check it.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

  • No can do, all Euro flights banned boards as carry on, apparently you could potentially unscrew a wheel and use it as a weapon...

    Shite really.

  • man that sucks! Recent too, took me board to barca a couple of years ago. no problemo.

  • It was because of that film, oh no hang on, that was snakes.

  • That does suck, I've taken my board on BA and Ryanair many years ago. Ryanair didn't really care, but BA were very accommodating. My board got it's own luggage space all by itself :)

  • Skate there you lazy git

  • post it to your hotel

  • take it apart and you might be alright?
When you flying, im flying to amsterdam in a few weeks too

  • motherf*ckers I used to take my skateboard on the place in oversized luggage for free all the time... when the hell did they tighten up the rules?

I'm p*ssed enough as it is having to pay effectively £100 to take a snowboard on RyanAir... RIPOFF!

actually yeah, take it in your carryons with the trucks off. Done!

  • Gift wrap it.

  • gift wrap it.

    concealed weapon!

  • we are talking about carry on,
skateboad in oversized baggage? you talking back in the day of 10" wide decks?

  • stick it in your luggage to check in .. dont take it on as hand luggage.

or fly with someone else, swiss air allow free snowboard carriage

I presume that as it says easyjet in the OP that he has already booked his flights, and that he is only taking carry on luggage to save the £25 you get charge if you wanna check in any baggage, rip-off!

  • you pay like £20 for flights, what you expect??

  • yep, carry on luggage only.
going to pack it in my bag and hope i can get it on.
    might take the trucks off.
would not like to have to check it for £16.
and where would you find a flight for £20 pound that takes you direct to where you want to go and still has a toilet?

  • shove it down the back of your trousers
    no one will notice

  • shove it down the back of your trousers
    no one will notice

Or shove it down the front and attract more than your average quota of 'laydeez'.

  • they charge you to check in luggage??

  • just found their list of banned articles for carry on or hand luggage. wouldn't have even thought a skateboard would be banned but...

    http://www.easyjet.co.uk/en/book/regulations.html#baggage

i like at the bottom it states 'this list is not exhaustive'. what else is there, they've named pretty much everything!

  • If you take the trucks off where are you going to put them....? Other than the front or back of your trousers.

  • they charge you to check in luggage??

No they charge you if you need to check in with a person, check in the baggage, maybe some of the charge is for the bag, otherwise, with just carryon luggae, you check in online first = no charge

  • to be honest i find that fact that they don't carry engines more worrying...
"We do not carry wheelchairs with spillable (unsealed) batteries, stretchers, full-size prams, or engines."

do they get there by magic?

  • They were cool with it when me and my mates flew from Cov to Barca last year..
