where I come from they DO hide the speed cameras (behind rubbish bins or trees) or have them in unmarked parked police cars, and will fine you $120 and a few points off your licence for doing 64km/h in a 60km/h zone down a hill.
they also have sneaky 40km/h zones near schools, but only between 8:30-9:30am, and 2:30-4pm. this means you not only have to bang on the brakes near schools, but you also have to check your watch first.
if you can't avoid a clearly marked speed camera then you deserve to be parted from your money.
