  • @ved - yes that has been in antiporn
EDIT - SP beat me to it ;)

  • unless anyone missed it - direct the hate here franckyfix@hotmail.com

  • We all of course realise rocker is joking ^up there^

Get back to "polishing your stem" Sir.

  • haha yes i was actually joking, the stems done il go back to a bit more on the cranks xD

  • thanks fresh :) this will be my first fixed, im riding a 10 speed Poyner around 1975 i think, its a beauty to ride :) what are you riding?

I ride a Raleigh conversion at the moment. Selling it in 4 weeks. Building up a 1979 (?) Guerciotti track.

  • I'll show you mine, if you show me yours

  • Ooh nice frames them :) any chance of pictures at the moment?
@aleksi - where i live thats known as grooming xD

  • I should have it finished this week. I'll def stick up some pix when it's done.

@ aleksi - seen it all before.

  • what you talking about fresh?

I only got half of it out on the vintage jersey ride

  • New geared project. Swiss cilo frame. Will hopefully be built up with a full shimano 600 AX groupset(weird 80's aero kit) columbus cromor tubing and wicked 2 colour fade/jackson pollock paintjob. Just about to finish my girlfriends cilo which is purple and white with standard 600 groupset.
    Matching obscure swiss bikes ftw

giant picture from ebay ad fail.
just have to wait for it to arrive now... oh the suspense.

Well my frame has arrived and damn its nice. Naturally the pics do not do justice to the paint which is cadburys purple. Fitted shimano 600ax chainset and delta brakes which look dope on there. Got the ax 32 hole hubs coming, spokes all exit outside of flange so thinking hybrid radial crows foot. Would it be a total puppy kill to put white v's and purple ss on a clean roadie build? Part of me knows its wrong but at the same time it'd look hot.
    Thoughts?

  • It's a Brooks Swift that has been trimmed a little bit on the edge (I think).

It's just a regular Ti swift that has been stretched out from getting soaked on the dunwich dynamo 2yrs ago...so it's about an inch and a half longer than standard :)

  • You did not make your orginal question very clear. Do you have any ideas what you're trying to acheive? Period style restoration or just make it rideable. Also what particular parts are you after? What do you feels needs to be changed?

Period style restoration would be great, the previous owner changed the saddle to an Orange saddle and i am not sure what would of originally of been on there. Its a Carlton Kermesse.

If i took the bar tape off, would there be any chance of the brand name underneath it? That way i can buy the same tape..

  • or *you could *buy different tape? there are no rules you need to abide by, do what you think will look good and if you want suggestions on specific parts such as pedals and saddle then shout

  • Definatley change the chain, the straps look a little of the colour scheme

Just chucked them on to see what it rides like, very smooth ride as well Campagnolo record hubs are very nice just had them srviced the wheels are 1977.

nice, is this a keeper or are you going to sell it?

I know, I would just like it to be as if from the factory.. in the 80s?

  • Ah see now we're talking. Try searching for bike catalogs some links here

Also try googling it for images eg

As for classic parts try searcing for ideas here or PM Skully or coppiThat.

What tubing is your Cartlon made of?

just missing a link... a half link!

was that on eBay few weeks back? Very nice indeed!

  • nice, is this a keeper or are you going to sell it?

I will keep it untill i find a 59/59 track frame.

  • Nearly there- I'm mulling over crank/chain ring options; something nicer than a Messenger for sure. Possibly Miche Advanced, or Record Pista if I come across one of these amazing jumble bargains...
