It's a system which is flawed through-and-through (according to people I respect - I obviously have not devoted any of my studies to Ayn Rand. For this you can criticize me, but it doesn't mean it's not true). But that is why it's sidelined. It's unoriginal. The only people who moan about this are the people silly enough to be convinced they're some type of ubermensch.
If you want to read academic libertarian philosophy, get some Kukathas.
