the DT rr12 seem really cheap to me and don't build up the best. they have really large nipple holes and the nipple move around a lot when build them.

Mine flexed when built 32h radially laced. I thought it would be 100% solid. Not worth the money IMO. I've rather ride a £15 Mavic.
someone on the forum has the deep section jalco's, i can't remember who though.
Me
Any firther commetns to make about them? Strong weak? Think they'll stand up to regular beatings with bits of piping and brightly coloured balls?Don't know why I ask though, they are winging their way to me as we speak...
(btw, went for the 36 hole)

Don't they weight about 700g each? They should be bomb-proof.

Halo Mercury are pretty special.
Again only in black machined, and maybe silver machined too (Ison distribution I think).

Remerx Taurus can be found in Edwardes of Camberwell.

830 grams each! Like having 2 Open Pros glued together :-)

Anyone spotted these in the UK, aside from built up wheelsets available from Charlie Bikemonger and Pearson cycles.

Just incase anyone is interested in hearing about the 27inch jalco's, yes they are... back wheel currently has 2 broken and 4 slack spokes and front has about 8 slack spokes... both still tru!
Looking at the front wheel you can see the siluettes of polo balls that have burst through the spokes :-)

Halo Aerorage added.
27mm depth, 455gr, 32 spoke holes, but most importantly for the style conscious...... 10 colours.
Blue, gold, white, black, pink, red, green, silver, purple, yellow.

Halo are also bringing out a new Aerotrack wheel. This is 27mm deep with no braking surface. I've got mine ordered.
Think they're basically the same as the Halo aerorage but without a braking surface.
If you want one activesport.co.uk have got them much cheaper than anywhere else for some reason - £70.99 w/postage. Bargain.

I wouldn't say £70 for a rear wheel was a bargain. You could get something hand built onto an on-one hub for less than that.
Halo's Mercury rims are still available for £40ish though. They're about as nice as alu rims get.

Not possible.

That's what my LBS quotes so I beg to differ.
Last time I looked they were not miracle workers, just bike shop workers.

On-One Track Hub £25
Mavic CXP22 £21
DT spokes £15
Build cost = ?Even at wholesale prices they're making fuck all off that build.
They'll be out of business soon so you should snap 'em up* ;)*I have no knowledge nor desire to know anything about retail trading.

You might as well buy those already build rear wheel from Condor that cost like £75-90, with Open Pro and Condor's hubs.

I'd say you'd struggle to get spokes for £15 these days, especially DT. They're about 90p each, its fncking crazy!
Must have got that quote back in 2007?!

Obviously this is the only rims reference I can find in the list of all list, and my question is not directed at a deep V rims.
I assumed the Mavic Open Pro CD (not the expensive ceramic one) is all-black as oppose to the standard one where the machined sidewall isn't black?
