  • downham, wednesdays.

  • I can do Tues, Weds or Thurs. Weds would likely exclude BAD and make us have to miss Souths, both of which would suck. On the other it would work great for some smaller, more serious practices.

Should we try to sort something like:

    Tuesday: Team night at Downham
    Wednesday: Souths throw-ins
    Thursday: NE throw-ins (Mitch)

  • Also, I wonder if we should start timing games when there gets to be more than x (=12?) people?

This would get everyone more games and would be good training for tourney players.

    Polo up!

  • Oh, and it's important to have precise formulas for these things.

  • Oh, and it's important to have precise formulas for these things.

Anyway, team night at Mitch this Thursday?

  • Yeah think we should start some kind of team throw in sessions.

Feels like there are too many random throw in nights and as a result its hard to get any game rhythm.

For example, the only time cosmic to the power of three played together was in oxford. I want more opportunities for us to get tourney fit in the run up to the megapolotron that will be the Euro Qualifiers by playing other teams.

    Downham this Wed or Thurs?

    that sounds perfect to me

  • OK sounds good. I am back next week to london town. ZOMBIES ARE YOU HERE?

  • Tuesday: Team night at Downham
    Wednesday: Souths throw-ins
    Thursday: NE throw-ins (Mitch)

+1 (tues could be at Mitch also?)

please don't do this on a wednesday, we have kept south wednesdays for so long now and haven't interfered with north games by playing games here on tuesdays or thursdays. i also think we should keep newington for throw-ins so we don't alienate all those not in teams.

    holla!

  • it is, Hola! with only one "l"

  • I think he means it like this:

  • Wouldn't we be better off playing team games at Mitch on a tues?
Reason i say this, most courts you play on in a tourney tend to be much bigger than Downham therefore if you want to compete at a higher level then your practice should match you game situations.

This will leave Downham free for throw ins now that the evenings are longer.

    My tuppence worth.

  • Can people still organise a fairly random team and turn up for this, playing on the same side consistently for the night, etc?

Or is it VIPs/organised bods only...

  • We've done it before that recognised teams play, then anyone else who turns up gets themselves sorted into a team on the night.

Reckon you have 2/3's sorted already though .......

if you boys need a 3rd im down.

  • Sounds like this plan is working for a lot of people:

    Tuesday: Team night at Downham/Mitch
    Wednesday: Souths throw-ins
    Thursday: NE throw-ins (Mitch)

I would prefer Mitch for Tuesday Team Night too, because it is bigger. How about if we do this, and then randome ones and twos can cobble together a team at Mitch, and other poeople can play throw-ins at Downham if they like?

  • Yeah, I love this suggestion and would prefer keeping Downham for evening throw-ins.

  • +1

Then the noobs, those without teams, those that don't want highly competitive games, etc. can get a lot more play and practice in, and those who want harder team games can be satisfied as well.

  • I do also agree that team games should be timed. Most tournament games are timed, so will give us practice of timed pressure..... plus games at Mitch can go on forever, so probably fairer that they are timed.

  • if you boys need a 3rd im down.

Woop! The team lives... you're in for life: T-shirts, banners, disk wheels and fan group now in the works. Awesome.

  • Sounds cool y'all.
    Timed games are good.
It's not always about playing until 5 goals and the last minute pressure is cool.
It'll be good to practice some last minute goal techniques.

    no jedi mallet tricks todd.
