  • Caution on filling out a new form. You were given a specific piece of information by a witness. By amending in a report to the police it you could be classed as giving a false statement. If the case were to go to court, it could easily be thrown out on that technicality alone. Besides, if the witness got one letter wrong, could they have got another one wrong as well? How many black Toyota Prius' are there with a registration that could be misconstrued as EJ08 LUZ?

You have an unreliable witness, better off looking for better information through CCTV and the like. Revisit the scene and look at every bit of every building in the area for cameras that may have covered the event and ask to view the footage.
