In that case the only other option i'll accept is black bar tape. :)
Bars and saddle should match IMO -

Finally got my new wheels this morning, Mavic CXP33 for the back and h plus son for the front! Hubs coming tommorow then it's nearly ready. Mint!
Cheers to snoops for the rear wheel and organicorgigin for the saddle. Both exactly what i wanted.
Although, that BMW is pretty tempting... Love those bikes.
That frame is bangin!

Bars and saddle should match IMOGah. She's staying as she is now! I think the black tape would tip the balance towards too much black to be honest.

Right. Fluro Raleigh is now in a metal fabrication workshop in N11 coz I went to Jazz Cycles today to see the progress and my frame was buried under 6 other bikes and hadn't move since last Wednesday when the guy 'promised' me he'd work on it over the weekend. I'm rapidly loosing patience with the bloody thing! Hopefully Barry Metalman can help ouy!

The left side BB cup is stuck in it. Jazz tried to cut it out, then welded a bar onto the cup to get more leaverage but it's just not budging, so hence it's at a proper metal workers.
The guy is going to remove the bar and I'm going there tomorrow a.m. to see if he can (carefully) cut it out. So frustrating coz the drive side came out so easily.Updates tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed.

paint is a little chipped on the Edison but glad you spotted it, I had a bit of trouble with Jazz but they did get it done eventually, I think they just take on too much work and might be a bit understaffed. Hope you get your bb sorted, sounds like a tricky one

If you're gonna scrap the bb and cranks, an angle grinder will go through the axle like butter

thats what i did, tried getting the pins out but then thought i'm not goin to keep any of this so i got the angle grinder out. it was fun, but working on a bike with an angle grinder felt a bit strange..lol finished pics are on the last page. i quoted an old post about the cottered cranks to use as the b4 pic.

Nice bike. Former (Skil-) Skala Gazelle team.
Looks a bit too small for Ralf Elsfhof. Perhaps Ron Groen's bike ?
What size is it?
I may have done the tech. drawing of that frameset. Probably 1985.
You've got to swap the stem! -

still got a few things to sort out on it..

after:
bad picture, sorry..
still got to chop the seatpost down slightly (it doesn't go any further due to the crimping of the tube..), move the stem down and sort out the bars - not sold on the risers at the mo..
pretty pleased with it all in all though.. big thanks to keith at TDV, pique for the ENO rear hub and dayno for the saddle
There's no pleasing some people! :) It did have the silver seatpost that's on the ribble, but the black goes better with the black wheels, black hubs, black flash on the seat tube etc. And the white saddle doesn't look as good as you'd think either.
