Dugasting
i agree

the latex "tread", if you can call it that, on a Dugast is about as thick as the wall of a condom.

meh...let's see him get that up Swains....
(Seriously) Fan-drigglin-tasto. I wouldn't bet against him. Legend.

Not even in the world's fattest, unfittest man competition?

He's a living legend, wonder what appliance from his house he raided to build this..

Just watched "the flying Scotsman" Really good film to anyone who hasnt seen it! obree is such a great guy, i love how he builds his own frames! i wish the best of luck to this legend!

A condom, not a condominium

It is a shame the Glasgow Velodrome won't be built for another year and a bit. Then again it is also a shame that its going to be called the Chris Hoy Velodrome when there is a true legend like Obree living on the West Coast.

^ i agree that sucks, should be named after Obree.! make a petition :D
-
• #116
Auch, Obree isn't a house hold name and looks uncomfortable when interviewed. Hoy is a poster boy.
-
• #117
I wonder if it will end up in the Manchester Velodrome hall of fame!
-
• #118
700c Chain Ring anyone?
-
• #119
The fact that Obree is one of those rare proper cyclists who doesn't go all Armstronged with drugs is alone enough reason to name a velodome after him.
-
• #120
If they showed that Boardman/Obree documentary before he attempts it again I hope it would give him more of the recognition he deserves especially here. He just seems more Scottish than Hoy ever does.
He probably still has the same training approach of just riding up big hills as quick has he can compared to the technical training.

fuck yeah! with massive banner that said "GO PENGY GO GO!" (in the style of Johnny B. Goode), that'd create complete confusion!
Don't diss the P.

I just got back from Bike Radar Live festival. I saw Obree and Stephen Roache being interviewed. Obree confirmed he will be aiming to go for the hour record in October/November time, but has no fixed date. Even better, he will be attempting it at Manchester! He said his first consideration was Moscow, because the steeper banking there leant itself to the hour record. However he wanted to keep it an entirely British affair. Good Lad!

Any clue if it will be ticketed?
-
• #124
Oh, and he came in second on the Hot Laps comp after what apparently had been one hell of a late night in the hospitality lounge at the Bike Radar HQ. That was against some fairly decent riders who had spent the last month training for it.
No idea about tickets, it all seemed a little ad hoc. He just decided to tell everyone his intentions and when asked where he was going to do it, replied 'erm, well moscow is the best place to do it, but if its gonna be anywhere its got to be the home of british cycling, Manchester.'
Plus, if i knew, i wouldn't tell cos i want to go, and you'll all beat me to the ticket hotline. -

The bike has changed a bit since the photo's above. Riding position looks a little uncomfortable...
