  • Oh I know this one, I accidently carried out a scientific study where I did the same route while stone cold sober and while completely pissed, I was a good 15% faster pissed, i'm guessing with all the alcohol your muscles can't get the message through that you're murdering them so you keep pedalling like you're not tired out, but boy do you feel it in the morning!

    you feel it in the morning because instead of dealing with lactate and replacing the glycogen in the liver itself and in the muscles the liver is dealing with the alcohol.
    it's why i have cut right down on booze and only imbibe after a recovery drink and some food. for me it helps with the muscle soreness the following day.

    my current favorite gear is 50:14 as it means i'm on the way back from the hills
