• Death is likely with a fall of just 18 inches onto your head. If you don't wear a lid, you do not deserve first aid or national health to pick up the pieces.

  • I seem to remember Rector having problems with these in the 80's because the design simply transferred the force half way up your arm, breaking that instead.

Although to be fair, it is preferable to break your arm rather than your wrist as wrists are complex and do not always heal right. A big simple arm bone without moving parts tends to heal up nicely. Or so I am told.

Where you born a cunt or does it take a conscious effort?

That's one of the dumbest things I've ever read

  • Where you born a cunt or does it take a conscious effort?

Some are born cunts, some achieve cunt status, and some have cuntiness thrust upon them

I take it you support a helmet law for pedestrians then?

I'll just second all that "you're a cunt" stuff here and avoid repeating myself over in the cycling tattoo thread, then.

  • I take it you support a helmet law for pedestrians then?

I did see a young lad walking around wearing a helmet the other day. 'Funny little fellow,' I thought.

    Maybe it was whitestuffracer.

  • some have cuntiness thrust upon them

thats happened to me. Its quite nice.

You should fuck off over to Bikeradar. They'll love a cunt like you.

Exactly. Now, off you trot, over there -->

  • Exactly. Now, off you trot, over there -->

I tried to go over there ---> but just walked into some chocolate digestives and then a wall.

    I found no bikeradar.

  • You need a bikeradar radar..

  • Hm, I've never had 18 inches fall onto my head. I wonder what that's like.

hippy, do you realise that your directions only reveal to us that you've got Bike Radar open on the screen to the right of the one on which you have LFGSS open? ;)

Jeesuz. My head is currently 18 inches off the floor and unhelmetted. If I fall off my office chair I will not be deserving of first aid or NHS treatmentz. I guess I better lie down under my desk. That will make me safe.

    mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. warm.

  • Be carefull a paperclip doesn't fall of your desk and take your eye out

One forum is not enough for any man...

  • The law? Where do you live?

  • Yeah I know, Bike Radar link and all that but still thought I'd post it:

A driver found guilty of causing the death of a cyclist was given a reduced sentence because the rider wasn't wearing a helmet.

James Jorgensen, 55, was knocked down by driver Denis Moore on a roundabout in Seaham, County Durham in September 2008 and later died of severe head injuries.

When the case came to court, the judge said that Moore, who held a provisional licence, could put forward in mitigation the fact that Mr. Jorgensen was not wearing a cycle helmet.

  • The law? Where do you live?

    He's in Ozstraya I believe.

  • You would look like a cunt with one of them on....

  • Ha, they seem to have taken that 'game' off the web-shite. It still says 'Don't be like the girl who rode her bike all wrong, wear a helmet' and is still filled with some godawful scaremongering, but partial success. Well done to everybody who wrote in. It might be back at some point, so probably worth monitoring.

Lots of people complained about that knockin noggins game. The effective complaint came from the NSPCC. The woman from the DfT said that their agency had consulted the NSPCC. What she didn't say was that the NSPCC had said that the game was unacceptable. Her letter seems to suggest that it had been approved - the opposite was true.

  • Thanks. I manage quite well without it as well.

  • Always wear a helmet on bike... It takes no effort and it looks cooler than having your brains splattered all over the floor. Don't understand why you wouldn't wear one (except that a good one is expensive). Most people think adults who ride bikes are a bit weird anyway, so it's not it's the helmet that makes you look odd...
