There continued discrimination against female cyclists at the Olympics is a source of shame for them and I hope that British Cycling and HM Government are successful in their attempts to achieve equality in terms of medals available for female track cyclists. VB could have equalled Chris Hoy's achievements and won 3 golds at the Beijing Games but for the fact that there was only the female sprint available to her, with no keirin or team sprint on the women's programme.
