Here's a pic of project Fixie (gosh was it really October '08 this started?), now it's in a rideable state.
I've counted 12 fails, so there's a point for each. Anyone getting all 12 in one go can have a Prototype Fimo Baked Yellow Jersey Dustcap Thingy (useable, limited edition (1 only), unavailable in shops, about to be made in Primary Schools across the West Midlands).

Just swapped frames with Cuppa T who some of you may know as he lived in London for a wee while last year.
Still waiting for a pivotal seatpost and the fork may get changed to a straighter one with no brake mounts but i like how light this fork is (lighter than the original Genesis carbon wrap fork)
what bars and grips are those?

It makes me happier knowing that it has gone to a good home!
i hope my collection of components will do it proud. and as another twist to the story. unbeknown to me the person that was selling it was an old friend from my racing days at herne hill in the velo club de londres. so when i collected the frame a fair amount of time was spent reminiscing and asking "do you rememebr ......?" and "whatever happened to .......?" and as a sweetner i got a pair of tied and soldered track wheels really cheap :-) and watched the highlights of yesterdays stage of the giro d'talia.
sorry if i've made you sadder

They look very much like bmx grips, perhaps fit bike co, and the bars will be bmx cruiser bars as they're in an odyssey elementary stem. detective me :)

Bars are Brand X from CRC. THey were about £12. Needed a 22.2 clamp bar and dint wanna spend too much.
Grips are Eclat BMX ones. Dunno the model name but they are the Chester Blacksmith grip if it helps. From Evans. Coz i get discount. And one of my jobs is in the same building as them. -

that's a lot to pay for a bike made from 0.9-0.6 cro-mo that's the same wall thickness as my mountainbike! and probably nearly as heavy.
you could have had something built in 853, deda eom or columbus spirit for that kind of money -

MrSmith: true, but i still love it :)

absobloodylutely!
It was quite sad really, it's the first proper frame I've had (ie. not carbolite or rolled steel or shaggy aluminium) and the first professional paint job I've had done so when they handed it to me it felt like one of those moments in 'Pimp My Ride' when they do the reveal to the gormless muppet who last saw their car as a rusty heap.
Anyway, very happy.
