Phoned Powder coat guys and the frame is done ...
Finish isn't perfect around the headtube, bb nothing major tbh. Quite Happy with the outcome. The lugs on the headtube look nice. Will be building on friday.

Looks good, hardly recognise it as the same frame!

Yeah, only two and a half years sorting it out :S
Rear Spacing might prove to be a headache, 135mm. Mudguards need painting up after I beat them back into shape.

My Brothers just text me and my orange Marin has been nicked, down his college. :(
Had that bike for 9 years ... Actually fucking pissed off about it.

sorry to hear about theft, will look out for it, mental week but would like to see the frame soon, looks pretty slinky job- post the badge up in Awesome logos when you got a close up?
someone else asking me about that today, can you say---cost£? colours available?
already know the turnaround time and rough location of place.Wheels mentioned earlier not good enough for that build up though mate.

Nice paint job - The headset cup will hide that nicely.
Are those BB threads OK? Shit news about the Marin. Doesn't your brother have his own bike?...
BTW, I'm getting somewhere with the 'Carbon Monstrocity' - Got a txt from Adam to say 6 packages had arrived this morning. Add that to the 2 I picked up from the PO this morning and it was like Christmas! Will take it out for a little spin with BH-Weekend.
Need to fit the chain to the Campagnolo® drive-chain, wrap the bars with pro-peloton white bar tape and index the Campagnolo® deraillers.

£15 frame prep
£20 actual sprayCosts extra to have a colour they don't have in stock. Colours are RAL system.
They take about a week, because they do large jobs and will do "bike frames when they can".
Might have have some wheels sorted.
On the Marin, if you see a kiddy riding around on an orange marin with rockshox judy forks and looks like it hasn't been cleaned for 10 years, that my marin. Hollowtech 1 chainset.

That's a damn shame about that Marin, was a good bike. You should be able to make a claim against the house insurance, I managed to do that when my old mountain bike got stolen. Might depend on the value of the bike though. Worth checking out either way.
Pifko, 8 packages! A little excessive, no?
-
• #336
^
It has been essentially stolen twice so we might not be able to claim.
-
• #337
If the Allez wasn't covered, chances that the Marin's covered is slim...
-
• #338
Depends, if it's over a certain value then you have to tell the insurance company about it specifically. But it's probably different for every insurance company. This is providing you do have contents insurance? My old bike was covered on the contents insurance even when it was stolen from town.

Oh yeah, I was thinking today that we should go up to Shaftesbury and back one day. Can go up via Blandford, and back through the lanes. On the way back there is a hill where you look left, right, forward and back and there is nothing higher than you. Awesome. From there it's nearly all a slight downhill to Ferndown. Route looks something like this. What you guys think?

up for it, in fact theres loads of spots I want to revisit again, Hardys monument-looking down over the Fleet and Chesil- superb!
golden cap, spectacular. list goes on. -

I've done something similar to that ride geared, since my parents live in West Moors. There are a couple of hills that can take it out of you, but nothing that can't be done fixed. The descents (depending on which way round you go) aren't too demanding either.
The B3082 around Badbury Rings/Kingston Lacey is really exposed though, and the ups and downs along that road can take it out of you - make sure you take it in turns to lead on that bit.
Try and beat 3 hours on the way back? :D
