Ride report: Hard, despite having done the route before and despite having gears. It just seems to be all uphill! Check the elevation profile on the map. 30km of pretty much constant climbing, before a big drop down into Shaftesbury, only to have to climb back up to get out of the town. I seem to forget this every time I decide to ride up here. Still, I was feeling pretty good, legs tired but had some juice left. Onto the last few blessedly flat miles along the canal when the skies opened and it fucking pissed it down! Canal tow path + heavy rain = covered in mud. But a shower was waiting for me at home, so I enjoyed flying through the puddles :D
Haven't checked my computer yet but I think I did it in just under 4 hours, which ain't too bad. Will be doing the reverse next week I think, should be much faster, all that descending!
