You'll be on a medium gear.
Cool I dont use big gears anyway, cetainly smaller than most on here.
and on a hire bike of our choosing.
Now that is a bit mean.....

I think we'll have to implement a one prize per rider rule, we did that last year and it seemed to work out OK... Sort of... Fairest way to do it, I think... Nearly everyone walked away with a prize at the second track day... Sound OK?
There'll also be a separate overall best rider prize sponsored by our friends at Brooks for Cat A, Cat B and Wimmin of a black Swallow saddle and matching black leather bar tape... Woot! -

women are in a separate cat?
can I also be in that cat; women and children like...
-
• #255
No, get on with your homework... ;p

Never trust anything a sprinter tells you.
On the other hand, many people on here seem to find 55x11 'a bit spinny' whilst riding in the West End, so you're probably telling the truth... this time.

inductions are saturday mornings, monday evenings by appointment or maybe if you ask nicely and you have had previous track experience you can get a quick induction if you turn up early on the day.
Is this likely? Would love to race but doubtful I'll get a chance to come up from Brighton before for an induction. I race at PP so have some experience?

You'll probably be fine. Some of the people on the list have never seen a velodrome, let alone raced on one.
Although you will have to remember that HH has banks (nearly) rather than the corners you have at PP. :-)

So what races are planned?
Am I allowed to get the prizes should I be lucky enough to win something?
I fear luck will play no part :-(

So what races are planned?
You know, the usual HH program,
40k scratch
20k scratch
and the famous 10k Herne Hill 'sprint' -

Don't forget the unknown distance (5k scratch) race.

• #263
this sounds great, i'm around the corner in Brixton so i'll pop over and show some support.

Thanks mate. And we do have one bank, kind off.
40k scratch
20k scratch
and the famous 10k Herne Hill 'sprint'Dino's favourite type of races!

The track is booked from 12pm...
if the organizers* are having racing from 1230 or 1pm then there's time for an induction.
not before as there is the usual sunday training session from 9 till 12.*teenslain

What Rob said, if everyone that's racing gets there for 12 (or better still, 11.30) we'll be in good shape for getting everybody registered (the few that need an induction should jump to the front of the queue so they can be ready for a quick induction) and out on the track... I'm sure it'll be chaos (again), but we'll muddle along somehow... I'm gonna stay off the track to try and keep everything running as smoothly as ossible as well as giving the rest of you a chance to win some prizes... ;]
Need to sit down with you, andyp and JC at some point between now and Sunday, Rob... -
• #268
how about sunday at 11:59?
-
• #269
What? Like we did last year?
-
• #270
oh no, last year me and andy had the program sorted the week before, all via PM like.
the first one though, now that was a shambles ;)
-
• #271
I know my name is on the list but I should point out that was for attending not for racing.
There is no way that my left knee is up to track sprints.Anyway I'm (apparently) all about long distances and endurance.

perfect for HH then

@teenslain - you free this evening? I'll be at HH from about 6:30 and imagine Rob and JC will be around too.

i think in all the programme from the second event last year was very good all round, it had a good mix of something for everyone, and a chance fro everyone to get a good few races.
I still think a kilo would be brilliant, completely inpractical, but brilliant.
keirins are a must with some road bike pacing, would be prepared to do some of the duties for that unless we can get a proper derny out there?!?!
a nice long race would be good at the end for some of the enduros.

I'd throw in another endurance race this time. Last time we only had the one and it meant that sprinters were favoured over the endurance riders (although many of the same people featured on the podium in both!).
Something like a 10 km scratch race or a 12 lap points race would do it.
I know my name's not on the list but I'm still coming in! woooo! fingers crossed for nice weather, today was another sad rain day at el tark.
