Mine's my front room, and I'll eventually get photos of it, when my camera is alive.
I share it with my housemate, whos a lacrosse player so it smells.
Also houses my hurling and triathlon stuff.
Its a bit of a mess but the amount of tools I now have is quite impressive, I think I'm gonna have to invest in a toolbox. -

I need a toolbox that size... i have a three drawer at the moment and it's definitely too small.
Where did you get yours / how much?

It's a Talco 'Machinist's Chest' - really meant for tooling and that hence the felt lined drawers!
They're actually really ludicrously expensive, like £150ish + VAT or something.
I managed to find mine on ebay for 70ish, which is still ludicrous for a toolbox really, but it was a birthday present to me, from me.If you can find one they're the business, as they're very well made, proper runners, powdercoated and lockable. And when it's full of bits and tools it's almost portable too.
A good example of American manufacturing quality that still exists. -

Soon ... I hope ... I will have a cellar, that will become my workshop. Can't bloody wait, I'm sick of getting it in the neck for having tools and grease and whatnot in the living room / yard.
I am fantasising about getting a big piece of board with hooks/nails to hold all my tools in view, and drawing round each one so I know where to put it back, like all proper dads ought to have.
And a stand, I need a stand. Unfortunately the cellar is only 5'6" so I'll need something to sit on too.

Shit, it feels a bit weird when I get cellar/garage envy. I don't give a shit about having a house/kitchen/car and all that guff, but I'd get a mortgage for a cellar or garage like a shot if I could.
Very sad. -

+1 it's all about the sheds and garden.

My landlord might have a word or two to say about that...
I quite like the bedroom-based workshop cos I can have a lie down every now and then, but my wife is not keen on the setup.

Like 'thanks for extending my property, let's not worry about structural stuff, we could make another bedroom down here.'

Ha ha yeah - "look, we've made a feature of the foundations"

don't forget the jam jars for BitsandBobs - lids screwed to underside of shelf for proper dad status

oooh yeah i han't thought of those, cheers Wayno. My old man used to have loads of these plastic Golden Syrup pots, with really seventies writing on. Can;t quite believe they used to eat that much golden syrup to be honest, I seem to get through about one tin every three years max.

that orange gritty gloop, my dad used to have a huge tin under the sink, but it was amazing stuff for getting rid of grease.
he also used to use the cow and gate baby food glass jars with metal lids from when i was a nipper for nails and bits and bobs, the memories!

I use my livingroom as a workshop..
Got two bike hangers on the wall (my girlfriend insisted that one bike in the room was not enough - weeh:)), and a toolbox and thats about it.
Store parts at a room in the attic, and non-bling bikes are locked up in the street or in the backyard or basement. Also in the living room are a studio my girlfriend uses to do her hiphop-thing, a 1200 and a 1210 included, both our record-collections and a mirrorball.. :)

One wall of the SEEKRIT BUNKER, where all of our fettling takes place.
I need a shadowboard next...

iPhone picture doesn't justify the workspace but at least it gives you an idea! Newest project is the black Centurion Prestige (I think) to the left.

"her hip hop thing"
Young people today hey? :) Sound like a nice setup.
I just use my desk in the corner, tools underneath and on top, clamp on vice.
Re dad points, old tobacco tins with bits and bobs in. Small screws e.t.c

Hell fucking yes.
Every bike fanatic has his or her own workshop for tinkering and general geekery, be it a front room, corner of a bedroom, kitchen table or shed. But each is unique, prized and in some cases hard won victorys (wives, girlfriends, boyfriends, housemates). Anyway while we share bikes and i dont see why not we should not share the places which spawned them!
here is mine.... chaos, fecking chaos (but i know where everything is)

but may i add pretty impressive given my student status!
