The definitive OTP ( Off-The-Peg ) List (<£500 and <£1,000 sections)

Does anyone know of an OTP (such as the Surly Steamroller) that can fit fatter tyres? I'm really drawn to the surly as you can fit cross tyres, and it doesnt have really relaxed geomitry and the top tube isnt at a nasty angle.

Ideally i'd love to have differnet bikes for different things, but don't have the room and the surly seems to tick lots of boxes. does it have a main rival?

how big? Bianchi Pista can fit 28c as far as I know (randonneur rear), Charge Plug can go for a whopping 32c (or more, I don't know).
