oh come on - that bike is gorgeous - just needs some love. that paint scheme rules.
dont powdercoat it - you'll ruin it & make it look like every other hipster bike.
If I had the money, I'd buy it off you & carefully restore it & put a period correct group on it. I'd really love to have a sweet vintage road bike, so all of this talk about powdercoating it black is just sad.
the long term plan is to get a surly steamroller down the line when I have the money then get this frame 'properly' restored by BJ and move my geared stuff off my other peugeot onto this or sell it on. All the braze ons are staying as is and the current paint scheme/condition is NOT worth keeping. The powder coat will protect the frame more than fannying around with nail varnish and I have already asked BJ about getting replacement decals.
It will in no way end up like the travesties above and by the looks of the pics their paintjobs didn't need any work good or bad. It will have a rear white deep v (with the hipster tyre replaced with something more sensible and the vinyl check pattern removed) on a DA hub with DA cog, Truvativ chainset, front Normandy track hub with and open sport rim, silver quill stem and black fuji track bars and black dirt harry lever working an alhonga deep drop dual pivot. The houndstooth framepad is NOT coming across from the other bike. Basically stuff I already have bar one or two cheap purchases. So.... dry your eyes.
